Born William Robert Bruce, Born 19 Jun 1913 Married 14 Aug 45 to Amelia Field of Cooks Hr the day the Japanese surrendered. ; 2 children; After the war he worked at guiding & canoeing for Bowaters, He did much volunteer work and contributed in community affairs and the family was the first settlers in Nicholsville, Deer Lake Died at age of 75 yrs

59(Nfld) Royal Arty; June 1940; #970638. Lance Bombardier who landed in Normandy shortly after D-Day and supported operations to Caen and attacks along the Rive Orne. Also fought in Belgium & Holland. Germans had flooded the lowlands of Holland and fighting was fierce and very difficult. Herbert was in Germany at the end of the war and remained as part of the liberation force.

Born 8 Dec 1917 in St. John's, son of Beniah & Anne. Returned to Corner Brook. Married Evelyn Christina Parsons 19 Jul 1945; eight children. He owned and operated a trucking business which later became Humber Valley Transport
