Royal Nfld Regt /WWI: Pte; #3155; 16 Oct 1916 - 10 April 1919; Enlisted at 16 , trained as a signaler in Ayre, Scotland and then went to Passchendael, Monchy. He was gassed and hospitalized for a time. Marched into Germany and served with the Occupation Forces.

Born in Gambo 5 September 1990, son of Joseph & Louisa, moved to Grand Falls in 1908. Worked at AND co. as a checker in lumberyard until outbreak of war.  Moved to Corner Brook in 1924 and worked in lumber yard and construction. then employed as a oiler at the paper mill. Retired from Bowaters in 1965. Married Mary; 3 daughters, one son. Lifetime member of Br 13, RCL. Loved to trout fish
