F/L #123533 Royal Air Force Served Aug 1939-Oct. 1945. After joining Reserve in Oct 1939 he was a staff officer in fighter. Appointed 11.3.46 Control Room as Admin. Office in Aircraft Branch. Transferred to disarmament branch 15.6.46 and employed in disarmament section, Hamburg.  On secretariat & admin duties until 1.2.49. Transferred to Mandatory Requirements Office 10 Oct 50. Fluent in German & French. Oct 1950 - Aug 1951 Admin duties with British Central, Essen; June 51 -Dec 55 with BFPO.

Returned to Britain and worked in Hospital admin. Moved to NFLD, settled in Glenburnie and then Shoal Brook, Bonne Bay. There he worked as Rural Development Officer and volunteered with 4-H.He was an avid gardener and contracted Lou Gherigs disease.

Zellah. Moved to Corner Brook in early 1950's; worked for Lundrigans, Bowaters and in Construction; was a foreman with Foundation Canada and a member of the Legion CB.  Married Ethel (deceased 1994) from Bell Island; 4 sons, 5 daughters. Married Vidi Robinson of York Harbour, where they resided.

Worked on the Stephenville base and then as a foreman with Lundrigans building woods roads. He served on the town council in Port Saunders. Wife was Rita (died 3 Aug 89)

Royal Navy 1941-45,  Joined 17 Feb 41; svc # JX230197; Served on HMS Roseville, Rito (minesweeper)& Baffin.   Roseville lost in Battle of the Atlantic on Dec 1941; He spent several hrs in water & received burns and shrapnel wounds to his back & hypothermia. Returned to action on Rito 1942 and later Baffin until end of war. Transferred to HMS Avalon, St. John's and was discharged one year later on 2 Mar 46.

Worked for Paper Mill in Corner Brook, started own business . Corner store  & taxi business in Corner Brook. Moved to Deer Lake in 1950s. Then worked at many different jobs and started a retail/wholesale business in 1960s. Retired in 1978.  Born 22 Dec 1923 in Saint John, NB. Married Mary Grace Kindle; 8 children;  mbr of RC school bd, exec & mbr of RCL, Honorary member of Kinsmen Club, Deer Lake.
